At Bare Jewellery, we craft our gold-plated pieces by electroplating 18k/14k gold onto durable stainless steel, high-quality brass, or 925 sterling silver. While we take great care in ensuring longevity, metals like silver and gold are delicate and can naturally fade over time due to oxidation.

Jewellery may experience discolouration due to various factors, including moisture, chemicals, frequent cleaning, storage conditions, and even skin pH levels. Gold-plated jewellery requires extra care to maintain its appearance and longevity.

We highly recommend reading our Jewellery Care Guide to keep your pieces looking their best.

Care Guide

Store your jewellery in a secure pouch, box, or airtight container in a dry, humidity-free environment, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Polish regularly with a microfibre or jewellery polishing cloth to remove chemical residues, tarnish, and restore shine.

Avoid contact with perfume, lotions, hand sanitiser, chlorine, and saltwater, as these can accelerate tarnishing.

Ensure your hands are clean and dry before handling gold-plated jewellery.

Remove jewellery before sleeping, bathing, swimming & working out to help maintain its colour and finish.

Handle gemstones with extra care to prevent chipping or dislodging. Store them properly to avoid damage.

Avoid impact with hard surfaces or other jewellery to prevent scratches, chips, or broken chains. Rings, in particular, are prone to wear due to frequent contact with surfaces.

If you experience skin irritation, applying a thin layer of clear nail polish to the jewellery may help create a protective barrier.

Adjusting Your Jewellery

To adjust your piece for the perfect fit, apply light pressure to bend the metal carefully. Avoid frequent adjustments, as repeated bending may weaken the metal over time. Adjustable rings should only be resized once to prevent damage.

If your earrings feel loose or aren’t clicking in securely, stop wearing them immediately and follow our adjustment guide.

For bangles with loose clasps, discontinue wearing them to prevent loss and follow our adjustment guide to secure the fit.

Warranty

All Bare Jewellery purchases come with a 90-day warranty, effective from the date of purchase. This covers manufacturing faults and material defects, but does not extend to general wear and tear, tarnishing, fading, chain breakage, or mishandling.

If a fault is confirmed by our team, we will offer a repair or replacement. However, jewellery is delicate and should be handled with care, as outlined in our Jewellery Care Guide. Damage caused by regular use, including bending of 925 Sterling Silver, scratched surfaces, or loose earring clasps, is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Repairs beyond the 90-day period may incur a fee, and return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. We also do not offer refunds or exchanges for allergic reactions, so we recommend checking the product details before purchasing.
